In order to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between theChinese people and people from the whole world, and to develop cooperation andexchange in the fields of education, science, culture, economy, and tradebetween China and other countries, Chinese government has set up a series ofscholarship schemes to sponsor international students and scholars to undertakestudies in Chinese research in Chinese institutions of higher education.

The Ministry ofEducation of China is responsible for the provision of Chinese governmentscholarships, and it entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referredto as CSC)to administer the recruitment of international students and theroutine management of Chinese Scholarship Programme.

Details of The Chinese Government Scholarships

1. Full scholarship: A Chinese government full scholarship coverstuition (or research) fee, emergency medical care, general learning material,accommodation, living allowance, and a once only settlement subsidy and o onceonly inter-city travel allowance.

2. Partial scholarship: One or some items of the full scholarship.

3. International air ticket: Applicants are expected to meet their owninternational travel coats unless it is set otherwise in bilateral agreementsor arrangements.
